Leanne Riddle grew up on the Kitsap Peninsula and discovered her passion for music through the local public school program. While she initially fell in love with cello, Leanne also pursued jazz and classical double bass throughout high school.

 

In 2007, Leanne relocated to Seattle to attend SPU after falling in love with the campus while attending the Hammond Ashley Double Bass Workshop. During her time at SPU, Leanne was lucky enough to study with Meg Brennand, Todd Gowers, Kim Zabelle, and Ilkka Talvi. She is currently studying with Joseph Mendoes, who has been an immense source of guidance in building her teaching and performing career. Leanne is the sitting principal cellist of Seattle Festival Orchestra and teaches privately in the North Seattle Area. 

 

Leanne currently resides in Seattle with her partner. She enjoys sight-reading chamber music, cooking, and soaking up snuggles from her brand new baby girl.
